Please Consider Making a Difference in Someone's Life Today!

Why we are here....

I found out I was pregnant with Sydney on July 3rd 2003. I was 21 years old, had an 11th grade education, lived with my mother, and had a part time job. I was just living my life day by day. I was no longer in a "relationship" with her father. I had an old car and twenty dollars to my name BUT I was excited to be a mom!!! I was also terrified. I didn't want to mess up my baby's life. I didn't want to be a failure. I just wanted to be a good mom.

God's plan is better than mine! He placed me in the right place (Circle K) at the right time :) I was literally throwing up in the parking lot when a complete stranger came up to me and handed me an unopened and cold bottle of water. She was a young girl and had a baby on her hip. She told me God sent me to you and I'm supposed to give you this water and this number. I was thankful for the water ( it was summer and it was hot) but I thought she was nuts! I tossed the number in my bag and it stayed there for a month.

I was at a doctor's appointment for a checkup and an ultrasound when I decided that I would call that number. I didn't know what to expect or why this girl thought these people would be helpful but I called. That number was for The Pregnancy and Family Life Center of Citrus County. They changed my life. They gave me counseling, they helped me set goals, gave me and my baby basic necessities as well as praying with me and for me. I NEVER felt judged. They genuinely just wanted to love me and my baby. They wanted me to succeed and I can say with absolute confidence that they helped me to do so! God is so good!!!
